Karen is a Clean Beauty Advocate + Certified Holistic Nutritionist living in San Diego, California.
She is passionate about clean eating, safer products + environmental health.

After a long career in publishing, Karen was drawn to the wellness industry after experiencing her own health transformation + its impact on her family.
It became her mission to help others experience their own transformations + take charge of their health.
Karen received her certification in Mind Body Nutrition from the Institute for the Psychology of Eating – the world’s leading school in nutritional psychology.
Working as a brand advocate with Beautycounter + a volunteer with Women’s Voice for the Earth, Karen helps her community understand that what we put IN our bodies + what we put ON our bodies has a direct impact on our immediate + long-term health – including our energy level, immunity + mental health.
Karen provides individual + small group consultations to make clean swaps + reduce environmental toxins at home + in the office.
She speaks + trains on the topics of:
- how to choose safer products
- reading labels + understanding ingredients
- advocacy + engagement
For the last six years, Karen has actively participated in efforts to pass more health protective laws in California + the U.S. especially related to the personal care industry. She has been involved in advocacy efforts locally in San Diego, at the state level in Sacramento + on a national level in Washington D.C.
Karen is helping build the clean beauty movement by identifying + training new brand advocates on the Beautycounter platform.
When she is not out preaching the word about clean eating, safer products + environmental health, she is training for marathons or riding her Pedego tandem bike with her husband of 30+ years.
